Everything that we do here as Bernabe Community Center is for the betterment of students and their families, because we believe when families have a brighter future so do the communities they inhabit.

Scholarship program

Every year, we award graduating seniors with $500 scholarships. This year, we were able to award 8 students!

christ before all

since 2022, we have been running an on-campus faith club at santa fe high school. over the last four years, we have mentored and shared the gospel with hundreds of students, many of them coming to faith for the first time!

family first friday

Our family first friday events are an opportunity for families in our community to come and take a breath amidst the chaos of life. there is always food and either a craft, game night or other fun activity.

trunk or treat

every october, we gather the community for a fun time of celebrating halloween through decorated trunks, free candy, free hot dogs, games, crafts, photo booth and more!

thanksgivingbasket program

every november,we partner with norwalk high school for their thanksgiving basket drive. this year, we were able to distribute 200 thanksgiving baskets and bernabe was able to donate $3,750 towards grocery gift cards!

christmas thrift store

Every December, we host a free christmas thrift store at our site, where over 200 people come for free clothing, toys, household items and more!

science camp assistance

this last january, we were able to contribute $1,000 to sanchez elementary school in norwalk for their student’s science camp winter clothing!

easter basket drive

every year, we are able to distribute easter baskets to students in our community! Over the last five years, we have distributed over 700 easter baskets, with this last year being 220 Easter baskets!

summer food box program

in the summer of 2026, as a response to an economic crisis and a lack of food security in our community, we started a summer food box program. we were able to give out 20 boxes of $100/worth of food to families!

community wood building projects

since the covid-19 pandemic, our organization has given back through various wood building projects. these include but are not limited to building 39 individual student learning desks, 50 garden planters and 20 garden boxes for local schools in the area.

micr0-grant program

through our partnerships with various schools and non-profits, we were able to open a micro-grant program last school year. each organization and school could apply for up to two $200 micro-grants, which eventually amounted to us giving away $5,500 throughout the year!
